2000 FLORIDA ARTISTS' BOOK PRIZE

Broward County Library's

Bienes Center for the Literary Arts

and

the Florida Center for the Book

are pleased to announce the continuing sponsorship of the annual
Florida Artists' Book Prize

The fourth annual prize of $2,000 will be awarded in 2001. An
exhibition of a selection of the entries and an award ceremony will
be held in the early Spring of 2001, in the Bienes Center,
 Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

CRITERIA FOR ENTRY:

1.      The entry must be a limited edition, and not a trade edition or a
        one-of-a-kind

2.      The artist's primary residence must be the State of Florida

3.      The title entered in the competition must have been published
         in the year 2000

4.      Completed entry forms and a copy of each book must be received
        by the Bienes Center by January 8th, 2001.

The award will be administered by James A. Findlay of the Bienes
Center; and Jean Trebbi of the  Florida Center for the Book, and will
be adjudicated in late January of 2001 by a jury of five composed
of: Ruth & Marvin Sackner of The Sackner Archive of Concrete and
Visual Poetry (Miami Beach, FL); Mata & Arthur Jaffe of the Florida
Atlantic Univeristy Collection of Books As Aesthetic Objects (Boca
Raton, FL); and Bonnie Clearwater, Director of the Museum of
Contemporary Art (North Miami, FL)
