Art Historian Northern Arizona University Art Historian: Assistant Professor, tenure track, specialization in Indigenous Art, with preference given to Pre-Columbian and/or Native American. A Ph.D. in art history, university-level teaching experience, and a record of scholarly achievement/publication required. Secondary specialties in postmodern art, feminist art and/or postmodern theory and methodology desirable. Ability to teach an introductory nonwestern survey and upper division courses in area of specialty, and a demonstrated commitment to working effectively with a diverse university community required. Ability to teach either half of the introductory survey in western art and a willingness to participate in interdisciplinary programs such as Honors, Latin American Studies, Women's Studies, and Freshman Seminar, is highly desirable. Willingness to incorporate new technologies and to teach in alternative formats, such as web based courses, also desirable.
