I agree with Kathy's request--I can't ACCESS the new version either. :-(
I agree with Kathy--it should be available in several formats, the old
format and the souped up version for those with the latest bells and
whistles. :-)

NO, surely the resolution OUGHT TO BE that a publication which is paid
for by our membership fees in ARLIS/NA should be posted in a format that is
accessible to the largest number of members, rather than only to those
whose computers have the latest bells and whistles.
Why isn't Update posted in the same format as Art Doc's Reviews on the
Net, which I have no problem reading (at least so far), instead of in a
format that I can't access?
If the intent is to phase out print publication, and thereby save $$$, but
to still reach the largest audience who is entitled, by virtue of their
membership fees, to access Update, then the answer is clear: post it not
in the latest, but the most widely accessible version of the technology
available. That is almost never the 'latest' version. Isn't that the fair
and democratic thing to do?
I believe this is a policy issue that the executive should address. And
until the issue is decided, Update should be posted in a version that does
not require anything beyond what we currently use to access the rest
of the ARLIS/NA web site.
