(Washington, DC: National Museum of American Art, 1988) takes the viewer through the various stages of preservation of an important historical collection, pointing out basic areas of concern for any photographic preservation effort.  Many ofthe black-and-white negatives in the Peter A. Juley & Son Collection at the National Museum of American Art represent works of art that have been lost, destroyed, or altered in appearance, making care for these negatives a priority.  The booklet contains a script, glossary, and bibliography.
