Hiring Salary Range: $2494-$2734/month
Payroll Title: Library Assistant IV. DESCRIPTION: Perform full
original cataloging of slides in all subject areas: detailed analysis
and placement of original item, represented in its historical period or
movement, which is reflected in the bibliographic description, subject
headings, and classification. Prepare bibliographic description
following AAL cataloging guidelines. Provide subject headings using
BHA, LCSH, AAT, and TGM. Provide classification numbers based on the
UCSD adaptation of the Harvard University Fogg System Slide Cataloging
Rules and in consultation with major art reference sources. Verify or
establish all access points: names, title, work, period dates, and
subject headings. Provide reference and informational service for
patrons in the use of the AAL print, electronic, and slide collections.
Direct the work of student assistants. Lead in major slide
retrospective reconversion project.
