Dear ARLIS/NA Members:
The Statistics Task Force has been charged with creating a standard
suite of statistics that would be useful to the ARLIS/NA membership for
documentation, budgeting, program and space planning, ranking/ratings,
accreditation, staffing, and fundraising. We are asking for your help in
this effort.
The Task Force has developed a survey including categories of statistics
that may be useful for ARLIS/NA to collect and make available to its
members for the purposes stated above. We would be grateful if one
person from your library would complete the survey. Ideally, this person
would be the person most likely to keep and/or use the statistics. If
your library has both a traditional (book,etc.) library and a visual
resources library/collection, we ask that you complete two surveys: one
for the traditional library and one for the visual resources
library/collection. If the library is an art/architecture
library/department in a larger library system, the head of the
art/architecture library should complete the survey. The person
completing the two or more surveys does not have to be the same person;
a visual resources professional should complete the survey for the
visual resources library/collection.
The survey will take approximately 20 to 40 minutes to complete. If you
so desire, you may print the survey, complete it offline and then enter
the answers online. The deadline for submission is August 18, 2000.
