The Museum of Contemporary Art seeks applicants for Librarian.  This
position is responsible for planning and directing all aspects of the
operation of the MCA Library.  The collection of approximately 18,000
volumes consists of books, serials, video and audiotapes, as well as 3,500
artists' books.  Major responsibilities include cataloging all incoming
materials using RLIN and Marcadia, maintaining the Voyager local system
(i.e. circulation, catalog, etc.), providing Interlibrary loan service using
OCLC, maintaining the library exchange program, and providing reference
service to researchers.

MLS degree from ALA-accredited library school and undergraduate degree in
Art required. Cataloging experience using MARC format, AACR2 standards, and
Library of Congress classification system required; prior technical services
experience in an automated environment highly desirable; reference
experience and knowledge of electronic information systems, including
library automation systems, the Internet, and computer applications
desirable.  Candidates must be able to work effectively with Museum staff
and outside researchers and possess excellent oral, written, and
interpersonal communications skills.  Reading fluency in one or more Western
European languages is desirable.
