You might want to check out the new publication by ARLIS/NA on
Collection Development Policies for Libraries and Visual Collection in the
Arts, compiled by Ann Baird Whiteside, Pamela Born, and adeane Alpert
Bregman. Most of these policies begin with a brief mission statement before
moving onto the collection development issues.
