The Getty Research Library has the following openings:
Title: Cataloger (Rare Book)
Reports to: Head of Monograph Cataloging
Duties
Prepares original bibliographic records for rare monographs in a variety of
formats and languages for a scholarly collection in art history and the
humanities. Solves bibliographic and access problems and reviews records =
created
by section staff. Prepares name authority records for submission to NACO.
Recommends cataloging policies, procedures and guidelines.
Qualifications
ALA-accredited MLS and an undergraduate degree in art history or a related
discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience=3B reading
knowledge of two European languages=3B 3-4 years online cataloging =
experience
including rare book cataloging=3B thorough knowledge of AACR2, DCRB, MARC, =
LC
cataloging practices, LC classification, and awareness of cataloging issues =
and
trends. Strong written and verbal communication skills=3B strong =
organizational
skills=3B strong attention to detail=3B strong interpersonal skills to work
effectively with a wide range of staff.

Salary range starts at: =2438,700
