I am also searching the ARLIS "talent pool!" Do we have any art librarians who have expertise in this area who would be willing to speak on such a panel? Does anyone know if there are any comic or graphic novel artists who live in LA region who are GOOD speakers that may be interested in speaking? I want the session to be inclusive of gay and lesbian content. I would also like to include: an artist a librarian who collects these materials and could address acquisitions, collection issues, preservation issues, classification issues, etc. a scholar that uses such collections, especially one who could address this art form in the art historical continuum (i.e. how "high" artists have used the comic form -- Roy Lichtenstein, et alia. and the recent series of comics on Leonardo da Vinci's life. I already have a speaker who has done a thesis on the subject of comics! Thanks for any help you can give me right away!
