The conference will bring together experts from both the United States and the United Kingdom with keynote addresses from speakers from the National Science Foundation, the British Library, CNI and the JISC. Lynne Brindley, incoming Chief Executive of the British Library, will provide one of the keynotes. Parallel sessions will explore and contrast major developments that are happening on both sides of the Atlantic in fields such as intellectual property rights, digital preservation, middleware, access to digital resources and virtual universities. It should be of interest to all senior management in information services in the education community, and those responsible for delivering digital services and resources for learning, teaching and research. The conference will follow immediately after a NSF/JISC Workshop on the NSF Digital Libraries Initiative, being held at the same venue.
