TECHNICAL SERVICES LIBRARIAN/CATALOGER.  George Eastman House:
International Museum of Photography and Film, Rochester, NY

George Eastman House seeks a Technical Services Librarian/Cataloger.
The Richard and Ronay Menschel Library has an actively growing
collection of 44,000 volumes devoted to the literature of photography
and motion pictures.  It serves the general public, scholars, Museum
curatorial staff, and three Museum schools. The Menschel Library has
recently joined the University of Rochester Libraries  automated library
system and is in the process of bringing up an OPAC on Voyager.
Responsibilities: provide original and copy cataloging and
classification of materials in all formats and languages.  Derive
records from and contribute to OCLC.  Maintain OCLC software, serve as
contact person for NYLINK.  Act as liaison with University of
Rochester.  Add records to Voyager, insuring proper authority control.
Supervise all aspects of bibliographic access via library's automated
system and manage Voyager client software, operating system, helper
applications, and security.  Plan for system implementation, upgrades,
and integration of new modules as needed.  Develop Technical Services
policies and procedures, including those for transition from card
catalog to integrated online system, rewriting procedure manual to
reflect automated cataloging environment.  Implement cleanup of records
in Voyager, train and supervise paraprofessional in procedure.  Assist
in providing reference service.  Participate in collegial process of
planning overall library objectives.  Work cooperatively to solve
problems and improve procedures.  Assist in designing projects and
writing grant proposals.  Qualifications: MLS from ALA-accredited
library science program.  Knowledge of AACR2r, LC classification system,
LCRI, LCSH, OCLC MARC formats.  Two years cataloging experience. Good
computer skills.  Prefer experience with Voyager or similar automated
library system, supervisory experience, reading knowledge of foreign
