----------------------------Original message---------------------------- The Art Department invites applications for a Visual Resources Curator to work in consultation with the Art History faculty to oversee a collection of over 90,000 slides. Specific responsibilities will include maintaining the organization of the collection, making and cataloging new slides, supervising slide circulation and seeing to the use and repair of photographic and projection equipment. The librarian will also prepare the collection for future digitization and entry into a visual database. The collection presently serves the needs of three art historians, 6 studio faculty and 40 MA and MFA students as well as faculty, students and administrators from various areas within the university. The position of Visual Resource librarian requires a Master's in Library Science completed or in progress, and an educational background in Art History and/or professional experience in the visual arts. Professional experience in a slide library is desirable and experience with digitizing images and databases is preferred. The Visual Resources Curator position is designated as part time for twelve months with a salary of $20,000 maximum depending upon qualifications and experience. Employment will begin July 1.
