Dear Paul G., and other colleagues, who might be interested:

At least I know the ISBN number of the Minnette de Silva book. Here goes:

Minnette de Silva : the life and work of an asian woman architect. -
Colombo, Sri Lanka : Minnette de Silva (PVT) Limited, 1997. - 660 pp.
      ISBN 955-95120-0-5

We tried to order it in 1997, by paying GBP 97.00 to this address (I don't
remember whether it was de Silva or a representative who wanted this
procedure to be followed):

Minnette de Silva (PVT) Limited
c/o Standard Chartered Bank
Kollupitiya Branch, 35 Edward Lane, Colombo 3, SRI LANKA

The money was succesfully transferred, - but we never received the book.

We have tried to claim it, and we have tried via the Sri Lanka Institute of
Architects to find out where we could purchase it. After some time we
received a letter (with beautiful stamps!), simply saying "... we regret to
inform you that Ms. Minnette de Silva passed away last year", which most of
us know by now.

That is where WE are today! - which means we are also very interested in
getting hold of a copy! (preferrably without paying once more).

Best wishes,
