Dear Colleagues:

The following book is due from the University of Pittsburgh Press next
month!

Hoffman, Donald. FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT'S HOUSE ON KENTUCK KNOB. 112 P. 8 X
8 14 COLOR AND 54 B&W ILLUS.
cLOTH 0-8229-4119-8
$18.95

It is the first thorough guide to the design and history of "Kentuck
Knob," the splendid mountain house in SW PA designed in 1953-1954 by FLW.
Inspired by Fallingwater, only seven miles away, local businessman I. N.
Hagan and his wife, Bernardine, commissionjed the 86-year-old Wright to
design this home.

Hoffman offers a vivid account of how the house came to be, detailing the
many complexities faced byb the Hagans -- form difficulties with the
architect to topographical errors and the unresolved issues in the plans.
The author is a splendid writer who draws the reader right into the
architectural adventure. He has authored seven books on FLW's
architecture, including FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT'S FALLINGWATER.
