Dear Colleagues,
The Technology Committee asks you to mark your calendars (or your programs) =
so
you won't miss the two sessions we are sponsoring at the Pittsburgh =
Conference.

On Monday, March 20th, 2:30-4:30, the Technology Committee will present a =
panel
session, =22Search Tools and Strategies for Web Sites.=22 This session will
demonstrate tools that can be used by librarians (who are not programmers) =
to
develop sophisticated database-backed web sites. Our experienced, web-savvy
presenters will take us through the basics, showcase some dynamic working =
sites,
and explain how they incorporate tools such as Dublin Core metadata and a =
new
Java-based search interface, called Thinkmap=22.

On Tuesday, March 21st, 1:45-3:15 pm, the Technology Committee will present=
 an
AskARLIS session entitled =22 Lost in the Fogg: Finding One's Way Around in =
a Sea
of Slides.=22 Discussion leaders will introduce various topics with recaps=
 of
sample filing schemes and of decision-making criteria for visual resource
issues. An open discussion will follow, which will provide an opportunity =
to
share opinions and experience.

In addition, the Technology Committee invites all interested parties to its
business meeting, Saturday, March 18th at 4:00 pm.

I've agreed to serve as the contact person for questions or communications =
about
Technology-sponsored sessions, so please direct any such matters to me at =
the
address listed below.

See you in Pittsburgh=21
