We had no takers in our immediate area, so I'm putting this out for all to
see. I really don't want to trash these volumes since they are so full of
ethnographic information and visual material. We would only want to be
reimbursed for postage or you could send us your own address labels and
UPS label. These are Kraus reprints (OCLC#4409986).

Dear All,

Several years ago, after spending a CONSIDERABLE amount of money on
acquiring as complete a set of the above as possible, parts of six more
sets turned up. I have been unable to get anyone to admit where they came
from, though I have a few suspicions! They seem to have been involved in
a publisher's warehouse fire. All are bound. Some of the cloth bindings
and some of the text edges are scorched. Water from the sprinkler system
seems to have caused some of the parchment paper dust jackets to have
adhered to the cloth. It must have been a very hot and quickly controlled
fire because there is NO smell of smoke--and I sniffed a number of them
(people were looking at me a little strangely and passing the area where I
was working very quickly). At any rate, the text blocks are in amazingly
good condition with many illustrations and diagrams--some that fold out.
I think the covers and text block edges that do have scorching could be
cleaned. Many of the volumes have suffered almost no damage. There is
slight water damage to the extremities of a few volumes, which does not
affect the text.

I sorted the sets by congress and found we had parts of six sets. The
first is the most complete with 45 vols., and the last has nine vols. I
will list below the contents of each set. If you can use these, please
tell me what you want, and they will be supplied on a first-come, first-
served basis.
