The Chrysler Museum of Art has a separate docent library of aprox. 400
volumes located in the Education Department. They have concurrent cyclical
training schedules based on level of experience and built around subject
areas of the permanent collection and changing exhibitions. We augment this
by putting pertinent material from the library stacks on a docent reserve
shelf in the reading room. This usually totals 50-70 titles at any given
time. The object files and Chrysler publications are located in the reading
room as well. We find that the material gets good use, though we don't
track which titles are used the most.
