VISUAL RESOURCES LIBRARIAN - SF CAMPUS

ORGANIZATION:
Founded in 1907 at the height of the Arts and Crafts movement, CCAC is the
largest regionally accredited, independent school of art and design in the
western United States. Noted for the interdisciplinary nature and breadth of
its programs, CCAC is organized around three principal academic units: Fine
Arts, Design and Architecture. With campuses in Oakland and San Francisco,
CCAC currently has an enrollment of approximately 1,100 full-time students.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Visual Resources Librarian will be responsible for
slides and electronic visual media on the San Francisco Campus of the College.
REPORTS TO: Director of Libraries. Works closely with Simpson Librarian and
Oakland Slide Librarian.
DEPARTMENT: Library
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Manages and develops the slide library on the San Francisco campus, including
collection development; database construction; cataloging; coordination of
digital image use; budget preparation; investigation of funding sources.
Interacts frequently with library employees, students and faculty.
Supervises work study students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum one year experience in a slide library. M.L.S. or M.A. in the visual
arts.
In depth knowledge of contemporary design and architecture. Conversant with
new technologies related to the archiving, management and presentation of
visual materials. Strong interpersonal skills.
SALARY:
Commensurate with experience, including a comprehensive benefits package.
