Don't forget the trade catalog collection at Avery Library, Columbia
University. If memory serves me correctly, some ironwork trade cats
have been added since the microfiche edition of the Avery Trade Catalog
collection. Also, the Smithsonian has one of the finest trade
collections around. Further to that, the Cooper Hewitt and Bard
Graduate Center perhaps? And, the Romaine collection at UC Santa
Barbara and I've just learned of one at Univ. of New Mexico Las Cruces.
I expect to be at the latter just before ARLIS/San Antonio so if you
send me the name of the Phila. company, I'll be on the lookout. Lastly,
Kathy Martinez has done extensive research on 19th c. Philadelphia and
might be able to add to this. A second "lastly" which you undoubtedly
know: Roy Goodman of the APS is a font of knowledge re anything
Philadelphian. Sincerely, Linda Kruger (Supervisor, Art & Architecture
Cataloging, Retired, Columbia University)
