Julie - I'd suggest that an anti-racist or a civil rights
collection would be most appropriate. An acquaintance of
mine who survived the Holocaust has donated objects to
do with his time in concentration camps to a Jewish
museum in north London, believing that only in that
sort of context can they properly seen and understood.
I think an object as grotesque as a KKK doll would only
make sense in the context of a collection helping people
(young people in particular!) to understand the struggle
for a fairer and juster society.
