Hi,
I'm looking for a supplier for a slide, a staff request, for the following
image, " The Exhuming of the Mastodon", by Charles Willson Peale (
1741-1827); an American artist working in the late 18th Century influenced
by Joshua Reynolds. Robert Hughes discussed this image in his TV series,
" American Visions", a great introduction to the history of American art. I
've located a reproduction of it in " The Genius of American Painting",
edited by John Wildering, but we don't do copywork here.
I've checked Rosenthal, Universal, Sandak, - would it be in Budek's
"Landmarks in American Painting", I wonder?
The painting itself is located in the Peale Museum, which is not listed in
our " Slide Buyer's Guide". Thanks for any assistance!
Also are any of these suppliers on the Web? I've looked up my Suppliers
mailbox, and don't seem to have recorded any URLs there. I notice a lot of
book suppliers are set up in this way.
