As I remember, the last time the General Libraries held a book sale
(several years ago) hardbacks were $1.00, paperbacks were 50 cents. I
can't remember now whether periodical issues were also 50 cents or if they
were even less. Our sale lasted several days, and during the last several
hours prices went down to $1.00 a bag. Before the sale, we had to comply
with State property disposition regulations by offering this material to
other Univ. of Texas institutions, then to other Texas educational
institutions. At the end of the sale, book dealers were invited to cart
off the remains.
