Help please!
A colleague has requested me to find further information on a painter
named "Murillo." It definitely is not the famous Bartolome Estaban
Murrillo as one of the paintings is signed "Rome 1910."
The paintings are religious with two being of the following:
St. Joseph with the Boy Jesus
St. Anne Teaching the Blessed Virgin.
I have checked all the reference and monographic resources in my
library (my resources in the area of Spanish art are quite limited).
The only possible lead I found was located in Benezit. The information
is as follows:
The painter may be MURILLO RAMS (TOMAS), a portrait and landscape painter
in Madrid, born in El Canamelar in 1888. He studied under Joachin Sorolla
and won the Grand Prix in Rome in 1913.
I would really appreciate any help you might provide me in securing
further information on this artist.
Thank you in advance.
