Might I recommend the "Chicago Art Journal", edited by art history graduate
students of the Department of Art History, University of Chicago, and now in
its fifth year?
According to its masthead, "The Editorial Board invites graduate students of
all disciplines to submit articles that deal with visual imagery, film
studies, and theoretical and critical issues surrounding the visual arts".
The editorial board of the journal actively seeks submissions from other
universities as well as other departments within the University of Chicago.
The journal is supported by funding from the Division of the Humanities as
well as the Department of Art History. It is an annual and is published
every spring (usually March/April). A new editorial board is appointed each
Fall Quarter and begins accepting submissions at that time.
