Susan Swartzburg and Marjorie Li, of Rutgers University Libraries, are planning
a study tour to Chinese libraries and archives, August 25-31, prior to the IFLA
conference in Beijing. Participants in the study tour will be expected to
prepare a short paper for presentation to an audience of Chinese librarians or
library school students. The itinerary includes stops in Guangzhou, Wuhan,
Shanghai, Suzhou, Nanjing, Chengde, and Beijing.
The all-inclusive cost for land travel in China is $1,659. For thos wishing to
fly with a group from New York to Hong Kon, and return via Hong Kong from
Beijing, the air travel is $1,595. A deposit of $500. is necessary to ensure a
place on the trip. It will be possible to remain in the tour hotel during the
IFLA conference for $50. per night, double occupancy, until departure on
September 1.
For more information, contact Marjorie Li at: [log in to unmask] (e-mail),
