Carly Davis is the librarian at the Glenstone. She sent the link to
their exhibition website with the quilt transcriptions included.
Well done Glenstone.
So I guess my quibble, then, is with the DeYoung Museum who
choose to not include the texts. I don’t know about the other
museums.
The deYoung is showing a nice film about Ringgold, with Ringgold herself
in the film. https://www.famsf.org/exhibitions/faith-ringgold-american-people
Who knows? Who has the rights to those transcriptions? Ringgold does.
If Glenstone could display the texts, even if only online, then surely other
museums could too.
They are integral to the work and to its full import.
