Hi all,
I am trying to answer a reference question for a patron who is writing a book about Marie Antoinette. This patron is trying to find the original creator of a portrait of the 18th century Austrian ambassador to France, (Count) Florimand de Mercy-Argenteau. Additionally, the patron would like to know if the portrait still exists and if so, where it is now located.
I am quite new to Art Librarianship and still acquainting myself with common reference resources. In the meantime, if anyone on this list has any hints or tips on where I could find more information about this, I would be truly grateful.
Link to the portrait provided by the patron: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florimond_Claude,_Comte_de_Mercy-Argenteau#/media/File:Florimont-Claude_Mercy-Argenteau.jpg
Thanks in advance!
