Thanks to the generosity of the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, the Art
Libraries Society of North America is in the third of a six-year grant
to fund an initiative for international travel to promote the exchange
of ideas and information among art librarians. This grant will support
bringing select arts information professionals together at annual
conferences that will enhance connections that can lead to national and
international projects and initiatives.
The award will provide funding to assist European librarians and art
information professionals to attend the annual conference of the Art
Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA) and for ARLIS/NA members
to attend the International Federation of Library Associations and
Institutions (IFLA) Art Libraries Satellite Meeting and other European
art library conferences. In 2016, ARLIS/NA will meet with the Visual
Resources Association for a joint conference in Seattle, Washington
(state) from March 8-12, 2016 and IFLA will hold the Art Libraries
Satellite Meeting in Chicago, August 9-11, 2016.
In order to allow for travel to conferences taking place throughout the
entire year of 2016, applications will be accepted in two rounds.
