Ok, as active exhibitor let me chip in and give another excellent reason for veteran and new goers to visit the exhibits (get ready, it's a sales pitch, and a good one!):
Facsimile Finder is going to have a raffle to give away five amazing prizes (a wonderful illuminated manuscript facsimile and 4 illuminated single pages) among those who come and register at our booth! Wow!
The first prize is the "Textos Astronomicos", an astronomical manuscript produced in France in the 14th Century. The facsimile is amazing and comes with a commentary and a velvet case.
The other prizes are illuminated pages from the Grimani Breviary, a majestic Flemish manuscript. The very special feature of the facsimile pages is that they are aged to look and feel like real parchment. The treatment applied to the paper is a real news and you'll be surprised by their quality (many librarians have already seen them, and their feedback was great!).
How to participate, you ask? Easy, just come by to say hello, register on Facsimile Finder from our computer at the booth and you're good to go! On Sunday, we'll pick the winners and give the prizes directly at the exhibition site.
Now, if you want to have a look at the facsimiles, go here:
1) first prize: Textos Astronomicos (http://www.facsimilefinder.com/facsimile/269/astronomical-texts)
2) second to fifth prize: Grimani Breviary, single page (http://www.facsimilefinder.com/facsimile/274/the-grimani-breviary)
And, finally, the list of facsimiles you'll view at our booth: http://www.facsimilefinder.com/post/29/usa-2013-list-of-facsimiles
See you there, copious and curious!
