Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to make a quick plug for the workshop Jill Luedke and I
are coordinating this year: "Bridging Online Content to Your User: Best
Practices for LibGuides and Online Pathfinders"
This workshop is hands-on, with lots of fun exercises and in-class
critiques. We did a similar workshop last year and had a long wait-list,
so if you didn't get to come, now's your chance! We're changing things
up just a bit. Here is our tentative outline:
1) WHY IS DESIGN IMPORTANT?
2) LAYOUT
3) COLOR
4) WRITING FOR THE WEB
5) INCORPORATING MULTI-MEDIA (images, screencasts, etc.)
6) TROUBLE-SHOOTING GUIDES IN HTML
7) PET PEEVES: DO’S & DON’TS
cheers,
Nedda
