Colleagues,
Our cataloger is trying to determine the correct subject heading to use
for a manuscript which argues that two sculptures in our museum have
been identified as particular saints when in fact they are two
different
saints.
Looking through the possibilities, misidentification as a subject
heading relates to psychology. Misattribution and expertising both
relate more to determining the correct artist so do not seem to apply.
To the catalogers on the list: what subject heading would you use?
Thanks.
