8, 2010, in Buffalo, NY. The meeting will focus on the Ventures of Frank Lloyd
Wright and Frederick Law Olmsted in Buffalo and promises to be both fascinating
and instructive. You are welcome to attend this ARLIS/WNY meeting as a member or
a guest. The tentative agenda is as follows:
Wednesday, April 7
Preconference informal, optional get-together for dinner: 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, to

Thursday, April 8

10:00 am to 11:25 am: Buffalo Venture of Frank Lloyd Wright
Speaker: Jack Quinan, Distinguished Service Professor, University at Buffalo
11:30 am to 12:30 pm: ARLIS/WNY Chapter Meeting
12:30 pm to 1:30 pm: Lunch buffet in Anderson Gallery
Luncheon presentation: Introduction to Olmsted Parks in Buffalo
Speaker: Francis (Frank) R. Kowsky, SUNY Distinguished Professor of Fine Arts,
Buffalo State College
1:30 pm to 1:45 pm: Travel to Darwin Martin House, 125 Jewett Pkwy, Buffalo

ARLIS/WNY is the Western New York chapter of Art Libraries Society of North
America (ARLIS/NA). In these days of budget crises, ARLIS Chapter meetings are an
excellent way to strengthen professional and personal bonds with other art
librarians in the area. Members are located across the upstate New York region –
from the Hudson River (Albany,Troy, and Saratoga Springs) to Buffalo.
The fall 2010 ARLIS/WNY meeting will be hosted by the Munson-Williams Proctor
Museum in Utica.
