from Patricia Harpring, Managing Editor, Getty Vocabulary Program
We are happy to tell ULAN users that they may now access the "Unknown Artist" facet. This facet contains appellations used for indexing creators who are unknown and typically designated by culture or nationality. Each record has three "names." The preferred name, "unknown <culture, nationality>" is preferred by the CCO and CDWA rules. The other two "anonymous <culture, nationality>" and "<culture, nationality>" are included as variants.
