Dear colleagues
We are preparing for a panel presentation at the ARLIS 2009 conference on visual literacy efforts in art libraries and visual resource collections. The session, Visual Literacy: What, Why, How?, will offer a survey of how art libraries and visual resource collections are integrating visual literacy into their outreach, instruction, and practices. The session will also cover the ACRL information literacy standards they relate to visual literacy and a series of projects at Yale University Library focused on developing visual literacy among user groups from the arts and other disciplines.
To prepare for the portion of the session on the visual literacy landscape in art libraries and visual resources collections, we ask that institutions engaged in visual literacy efforts email a short description of your efforts directly to [log in to unmask] We will follow up with phone calls shortly.
Thank you and we look forward to the session and seeing everyone in Indianapolis in April!
Thanks,
