Dear colleagues,
I have the very sad responsibility of reporting that Judy Hoffberg passed away quietly at home on Friday evening with family after a short battle with leukemia. She was 74, and remained her usual self until the very end. I last saw her a couple of weeks ago, and she was getting ready to attend an exhibition at UCLA's Fowler Museum.
There will be no funeral, but a local memorial service is being planned. As more details are available, including addresses for condolences, we will update you. The Indianapolis Conference Committee is already planning something for April.
Please forward this message to any book or mail artists, or other people who may not be on ARLIS-L (such as any chapter listservs) who may be interested.
Judy touched many, many lives in several worlds, and she will be missed in all of them.
