Dear Arlisians,
Hope this note finds you all well and I Wish you All a fine Holiday period.
Now my request for information. I am concerned about the number of image
sets that we all have in microform and I can find no evidence of any efforts
to turn into digital archives. I am looking at examples like the IDC
Armenian Architecture set from Rensselaer Polytechnic, the Conway Library
Archive from the Courtauld, or the Italian Roman Architecture Archive and
many more particularly architectural sets.
Does anyone know of plans to digitize and market any of these archives or
offer them freely? Is ARTstor looking at any of these collections? I don't
think of these as falling under orphan works. Have we had any discussion
about whether or not the images can be converted to digital and offered by
institutional collections hosted on ARTstor?
There is some very good stuff here.
Thanks,
lucie
