Because of the severe budget problems in Philadelphia our library
administration has proclaimed that we will no longer have our
periodicals bound. They say they've heard that other libraries have
stopped binding. We're finding this a little hard to believe. Sure we
have JSTOR, but that doesn't help us with the recent years not yet
covered in JSTOR. Has anyone out there stopped binding their
periodicals? Has anyone looked into it and decided not to stop? Could
anyone who has stopped tell me how they are handling their periodicals
if not binding them.
I guess I'm mainly asking other public libraries, but if any of the rest
of you want to chime in, I'll be glad to hear.
Thanks,
Karen Lightner
