I am a librarian and publisher (Litwin Books and Library Juice Press), and
I am interested in corresponding with some art librarians with a strong
interest in copyright issues that practicing artists face.
You should ...
- work primarily with practicing artists rather than art historians;
- have a strong interest in copyright (as well as trademark) issues faced
by artists from two directions: how they can protect their own copyrights
and how they can establish their rights to use "ingredients" in art making
(concerning elements such as bricolage, collage, montage, mashups and
cultural references);
- be a good writer; and
- be interested in taking on a big project.
If this describes you, please reply to me off-list.
For information about my press, go to http://litwinbooks.com/.
Thanks,
Rory Litwin
