Dear Jo:
Congratulations to you, as editor, and your colleagues, on the publication
of this very important online book on the history of art librarianship in
Canada. I urge all ARLIS members to look at it and read it as the
experiences of our Canadian members in the field are parallel in most ways
to those of the rest of us. Although the ability to add to the publication
in the future is a virtue of having it online, I was struck by the
attractiveness of the book's design as well as its substance, and hope that
it may eventually be made available in printed and bound form for ARLIS
members everywhere to include in our physical collections. This is a
Canadian publication, but it will be of interest to anyone practicing art
librarianship. Thank you!
Best wishes,
Joan

The website presents "Essays in the History of Art Librarianship in Canada /

by Canadian art librarians across the country. Texts are accompanied by
endnotes, bibliographies and illustrations.
The website is a project of ARLIS/NA Canada, sponsored by the National

Subject: [ARLIS-L] history of art libraries?
Hello!
I'm looking for resources on the history of art
libraries and librarianship. My results so far have
been spotty, so any help would be hugely appreciated.
Much thanks,
Arwen
