Greetings, ARLIS/NA members! Over the past year (and especially at the
Atlanta conference) I have heard several people express an interest in
sponsoring interns and I have talked to several library students looking
for internships, so I want to take this opportunity to once again
promote the Professional Development Committee's Internship Roster --
http://www.uflib.ufl.edu/afa/pdc/internshiproster.htm (It is also
available off the main ARLIS/NA website, http://www.arlisna.org, by
going to Career Resources --> Internship Roster in the top menu. Thanks,
Nedda!)
There are a variety of institutions listed from across North America --
some in museum libraries, some in visual resource collections, some in
academic settings, some are paid, some are unpaid. This is a great way
to make connections with potential interns -- whether it is next year's
ARLIS/NA Internship Award winner or someone just interested in the inner
workings of art librarianship or visual resources.
If you don't see your institution listed on the Roster, please consider
submitting the needed info at
http://www.uflib.ufl.edu/afa/pdc/internshipform.htm and we'll see that
yours gets listed as soon as possible. (Big thanks goes out to Cathy
Billings from the Internship Award Committee who has been diligently
contacting each institution listed to update their listing, but if you
notice any needed corrections please email me directly or resubmit your
info via the form.)
Sincerely,
Tom Caswell, ARLIS/NA Professional Development Committee Chair
