Dear Collective Wisdom,
I am trying to wrap my mind around Zenon DAI (Dyabola) and am finding it fiendishly difficult. In particular, I am trying to figure out how to combine Thesaurus searches; I know that you can do this by running searches and then going into Previous Searches and combining those sets with AND or OR but is there a way to [efficiently] search for thesaurus terms containing a particular word and then select and run a search of the combined terms? I can get a selected list of index terms, and the system lets you look at them one by one to see a definition and number of hits, but once you click to get a result list of an index term you can no longer get back to the list of index terms to run another search.
Also is it possible to, for instance, create a search set of combined thesaurus terms and then use the Filter function to search that set for a particular term in titles? Is this a level of flexility that is not possible in this database?
A sample search I'm working with is to find material on cult statues in Roman temples.
The documentation I've been able to find is even more brain-cracking than the database itself. Any help would be appreciated; the end goal of this enterprise is to be able to teach students how to understand and use the database.
Thanks, everyone-
