I agree that the standing figure and the other portrait are too generic to
be easily identifiable as any particular portraits--I think there's a
Copley that's close to the standing figure (it would be 18th c. anyway)
but haven't spotted it yet. I think you may find the whaling scene is
based on an illustration by Rockwell Kent for Moby Dick, although there
may be another source which he used himself.
