Hello,
I'm currently curating and creating a virtual exhibit that will link
from our art library's main page and seeks to highlight a portion of
the collection which, though rich in content, receives little use as it
is stored in the library's rare books "cage." Eventually, I hope to
create a template that will allow future staff to curate virtual
exhibits without having to create the website from scratch. I would
also like to encourage collaboration between different departments in
developing these exhibits.
I would love to hear from any of you who have gone through a similar
process? What was the driving force behind these exhibits (lack of
physical space, desire to highlight invisible collections...)? Is it
an ongoing project? Do you target departments other than the art
department in curating the exhibits? Obstacles? Advice? And,
finally, can you provide a link to any current exhibits?
Thoughts on any one of these questions, or on the topic in general,
would be highly appreciated!
Thank you,
