The Program Committee for the ARLIS/NA 2007 Conference in Atlanta
invites you to submit program proposals relating to the conference theme
of "At the Crossroads: Inside, Outside, Past, Present, Future..."
Atlanta is indeed a crossroads city and a phoenix that has risen from
its ashes on more than one occasion. Historically, Atlanta was the nexus
of southern railways and trade routes. Entering the latest century,
Atlanta is now a major global hub for transportation, industry, and
culture. The theme of the 2007 ARLIS/NA conference in Atlanta -- "At
the Crossroads: Inside, Outside, Past, Present, Future..." -- references
Atlanta's history as well as its present role in the development of the
New South. Likewise, it references the many challenges we face and the
complex decisions we must make as information professionals and library
managers in the 21st Century.
The theme is intentionally broad, and designed to allow for the the
diverse programmatic interests of the Society. The 2007 conference
planning committee looks forward to reading many creative and timely
proposals from the membership. Program proposal forms and guidelines are
available at:
We are seeking proposals in the following presentation formats:
1. Workshop
2. Paper(s)
3. Plenary Sessions
4. Panel Discussions
5. Opposing Viewpoints
6. Poster Sessions
7. AskARLIS Discussion Sessions
PLEASE NOTE: It is NOT necessary to have identified your speakers to
submit a session proposal. If needed, a call for papers with information
about approved session proposals that lack confirmed speakers will be
posted on ARLIS-L at a later date.
Deadline for submitting proposals is June 15, 2006. Electronic
submission is preferred.
