Hello RISS friends,
I just wanted to send an initial message to all RISS
members, since an 'annual report' from us is due
soon, and I need input! I am planning on coming to
Banff, though funding is still dicey, but I didn't
want to miss the opportunity to chair our annual
meeting, and help plan the course of the next year.
I know we will still be discussing the series(I
think it is safe to call these workshops a 'series'
after all these years of Barbara Prior's energetic
leadership) and I had an idea that these sessions
might make a very interesting idea for an article
for more mainstream(meaning not just our ARLIS
publications) library journal. Of course, that
would mean someone or some few would have to do it,
but what do you think? It struck me as a way to get
our work out there to the more general library
population. I've not heard of this kind of thing
being done so regularly in other library conferences.
Well, I am looking forward to moderating another
lively meeting, and hope to see a lot of you there.
In the meantime, even if you can't attend the
conference, please don't hesitate to send your
thoughts about the direction of RISS to me via email.
Thanks,
Best,
Anne Haas
