Hi all -- just finished reading The Lost Painting by Jonathan Harr. It's
the story
of how a Caravaggio painting, "lost" for centuries, was identified,
restored, and
documented. Libraries and archives play a major role, of course. The
author
does a pretty good job of making it read like a fictional mystery story,
bringing
the personalities to life and portraying the cut-throat politics and egos of
art historians.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in Banff,
