Dear WomArt Round Table members and friends,
Just a note to keep the Women & Art Round Table in your minds. This is the
busiest time of year for most of us, but I'm sure you've all got WomArt in
the back of your [collective] mind.
The annual report/minutes of our 2005 conference meeting can be found within
the ARLIS/NA Web pages under the conference proceedings - this will require
logging in as an ARLIS member. Other earlier documents can be found on the
Web page maintained by Susan Clarke:
http://condor.depaul.edu/%7Esclarke/arlis/womart.htm
One outcome of our 2005 meeting was the setting up of a blog site by Melanie
Cofield (thanks, Melanie!). I've included Melanie's instructions below on
how to get in/participate on the blog.
Another project under discussion is that of a bibliography/Webliography on
selected topics related to women and art. Please see the conference
proceedings for more info.
That's all for now, and I hope to see many of you in Banff at our meeting.

FROM MELANIE COFIELD, APRIL 15, 2005:
Hello Women & Art Round Table-ers!
Let me say first that I sent this email to both the listserv and individual
email addresses, as I wasn't sure who had subscribed to the listserv or not.
If you are not and don't plan to be on the listserv, please let me know.
Otherwise, I'll limit future emails to the listserv only.
I have set up a blog community with LiveJournal, a free, open-source,
blog-hosting service, for us to use as a communication tool. This community
is set up as open and non-moderated (this can be changed later if
necessary). To join the community WomArt, you will need first create a user
account with LiveJournal, by going to
http://www.livejournal.com/community/newbies/ and clicking "creating an
account". You don't have to download anything.
After you've created your personal account, join the community by
1 - going to http://www.livejournal.com/community/womart/ and
2 - clicking on the "ARLIS/NA Women & Art Round Table work space" link.
This should take you to a Community Info page that contains the text "To
join this community, click here" After you have
3 - clicked and joined, you should be able to post to this community through
that same Community Info page. You will click the little pencil icon
(second from left of the five icons) to create a post.
Please let me know if you have any problems. This is my first effort to set
up a community blog, so it might need some tweaking :)
I look forward to working with you all!
