Dear Colleagues (once again)--
I have a second announcement of new content
in the Digital Libray for Decorative Arts,
this time regarding our image database of
18th century ceramics from the Chipstone
collection.
We have just uploaded detailed scholarly catalogue
entries for approximately 30 ceramics pieces
in our image collection. Additional enhanced
entries will be forthcoming. The text information
was researched and written by Leslie B. Grigsby,
Curator of Ceramics and Glass at the Winterthur
Museum in Delaware.
To launch a "quick & dirty" search for these
expanded records, go to
http://digicoll.library.wisc.edu/DLDecArts/ImageAbout.html
Click on "Search the Image Collection,"
and enter a keyword search for
grigsby full
(to pull up the full views with Grigsby text).
I'm very pleased that we are able to offer this
deeper level of analysis for these pieces. We hope
to provide online resources of real scholarly use
for researchers in the decorative arts.
As always, comments and suggestions are welcome.
This is a resource under construction, so feedback
and corrections are appreciated.
Best,
--Linda
