Dear Colleagues,
I am interested in hearing from those of you whose art historical
departments (NOT studio arts programs) have added one or more courses in
CONTEMPORARY ART to their curriculua in recent years. Pitt added it to
the art history curricula in 2001. Prior to that no courses in this area
were taught in Pitt's art history program with obviously implications for
the library's collections.
Was this field included in your institution's curriculum from the
beginning?
If new, when was thie field added to your institution's curriculum?
Since there are implications for library collections, how have you coped
with the numerous challenges of adding materials in this field to your
collection? Books and serials and media materials....
Thansk in advance for any information you can share with me about this!
